Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS)
Why to measure the emissions?
Emission measurement defines the content of the impurities in flue gas. Such impurities can be e.g. sulphuric oxide (SO2), nitric oxide and nitrogen dioxide (NOx), hydrogen chloride (HCl), hydrogen fluoride (HF) and total organic carbon (TOC).
In EC-countries the monitoring of emissions has been stipulated in the environmental permission of each plant which is based on the Directives and regulations of European Community. There are two main Directives valid in EC: Directive 2001/80/EC (LCP-directive) and Directive 2000/76/EC (Waste Incineration-directive). These directives have been completed with various Quality Assurance Standards, e.g. standard EN-14181, Stationary source emissions - Quality assurance of automated measuring systems.
In other countries the local regulations and legislations prevails.
Kontram
Kontram has over 20 years experience of design and manufacture of Gas Conditioning Systems, mainly for CEMS. Kontram has installed systems in almost 20 countries all over the world. Our skilled organisation is managing the whole project from design to commissioning and after sales services. High quality operation conforms to ISO9001 Quality Management System Standard.
What can we offer?
Based on provided process and stack details and local requirements Kontram makes quotation of gas conditioning system. Sample probes and sample line can be included into the offer if needed. Also Data Acquisition and Reporting System are available. In some cases we can also provide gas analyzers like Servomex, Thermo or MKS. Final documentation includes PI- and dimensional drawings, wiring diaphgrams, signal list, parts list, instructions manuals, uncertainty calculations, etc. After delivery we are able to to provide commissioning and trainging and service contract for the system.
Gas Conditioning System
Manufactures for the main components we use, such as Perma Pure, Bühler, Lucifer, Wika, Eldon, Omron, etc., are all international well-known. Construction can be modified according to end users standards and local legislation. Confirms with LCP and WID requirements according to QAL1 (EN14956).
What kind of information we need to be able to provide the offer?
- List of measured gas components and measurement ranges
- Used analysers
- Fuel of the boiler (oil, gas, coal, bio, waste, etc.)
- Stack gas details (temperature, pressure, humidity, dust load, stack construction)
- Ambient conditions
- Legislation to be followed (LCP, WID, Environmental Permit of the plant)
